Well Child Visits
Well-child check-ups help us establish a relationship with you and your child, so that we can best serve them as they grow. Your baby’s first exam will occur immediately following birth. Thereafter, we will schedule check-ups every few months. During the visit, the pediatrician will perform a thorough physical exam and check to ensure your child is meeting the normal developmental milestones. Children with specific medical conditions, such as diabetes or asthma, or other chronic illnesses, may need to be seen more frequently. Patients 16 and over who are either sexually active or on birth control are also screened for chlamydia as a preventive measure following guidelines the AAP, AAFP, and the U.S. Preventative Services Task Force. Well-child exams are also a good opportunity for you to ask the pediatrician any questions you have.
